Question #1: Where will I see Answer Path?
Answer: When you type in keywords on the Search screen, in the Federal practice area, a bubble up menu will appear when Answer Path results are found.
Question #2: What type of information does Answer Path give me?
Answer: Answer Path results may include links to Quick Tax Amounts and Orientation Documents:
- Quick Tax Amounts - will give you a table that includes direct answers to common questions like dollar amounts, limits or tax rates.
- Orientation Documents - include a high-level overview of a topic, written in plain English, including relevant issues, links to the appropriate code section(s) and links to deeper information or next steps where appropriate (i.e. other federal tax sources, practice aids, etc.).
NOTE: The initial scope of Orientation Documents pertains to topics related to preparing and filing federal individual income tax returns, such as computations, payments, exemptions, deductions, and adjustments.
