Setting a Default Preparer

You can set a preparer to be assigned automatically to each new client added to the account. This selection applies to the account level, not at the user level.

Note: Users must be granted the Add/Edit/Delete Preparer Info by the account administrator to performing this task.

  1. Click My Preparers under Administration menu.
    The My Preparers screen is displayed with the list of preparers and the corresponding preparer form in the right column.
  2. From the displayed list, select the preparer that you wish to set as the Default Preparer.
  3. Click Edit from the top toolbar. This activates the displayed preparer record form on the right.
  4. Check the Default Preparer assigned to all new clients in this account box at the bottom of the form.
  5. Click Save from the top toolbar.
    The selected preparer is now added as the Default Preparer to all clients added to the account. The Default Preparer name displays in Bold Italics in the Preparer Name list.
